Not Where's Waldo? but.... Donde esta Jarryd?

Ok, so today, and in this blog post, we made up a game and a theme to our pictures. If you can't find me, just click the picture to get a larger view. Suerte!
At first, we thought instead of just taking pictures of stuff, let's do something goofy. This is the Macro Plaza and that is the Museum of the Palace.
This is another museum. Museum of the North, I think.
We wanted a picture of El Cerro de la Silla.
This one is where it starts to get hard to find me. But you can do it..
This was a fun way to take pictures
I'm so proud. This is a statue of someone famous.
See me?
There is a giant christmas tree made up of plastic bowls
I'm in this one too
I'm on the left side
This is another museum
This is a river that flows through and this is a waterfall
Donde esta Jarryd?
Tying my shoe by Paseo Santa Lucia
This is the last pic. This is one of the boats that pass by. If you come visit, we can ride in them.

Did you find me in all the pics?

Keep your eyes open for other themes as our semester continues.

Start of new adventure

CJ and I flew from Nebraska to Monterrey on Tuesday hoping to get out of the cold weather. It was -19 degrees fahrenheit on the morning that we left Nebraska, but when we got to Monterrey, it was still relatively cold, in the low forties, and that is how it's been since we've gotten here. It is safe to say that we are handling the cold better than most people from here with their multiple layers of sweaters, scarves and hats, to combat the low (for them) temperatures. It's supposed to get into the 50s next week, don't be too jealous.

So we have been cooking. Our first night here we cooked the best meal I've cooked in my life. We grilled steak, mixed it onions and green and orange peppers, and CJ made the guacamole and we had fajitas and chips with guacamole. Since then we have cooked two other nice meals but those fajitas were mmm mmm good.

We have been making good use of the gym and the orientation sessions for the international students at the Tec. There are a ton of kids from all over and the university does a great job of creating activities and things to do for us. We are planning on taking a Salsa class, a yoga class, and a Mexican cooking class. We also want to travel a bit and get to know Mexico.

We already met a guy from Nebraska, or should we say Guy, from Nebraska (his name is actually Guy). It was a pretty crazy coincidence as we both jumped at the sight of the deer on campus and then we found out we were both from Nebraska.

I would say that a highlight so far has been seeing Avatar in Digital 3D, or as they say here, tercera dimension. More than one time I caught myself oohing and ahhing. When JakeSully jumped on the planes and threw the grenades in the engines, I whooped out loud. It was the awesomest, most visually stunning, best story, all around sweetest movie that I have seen in a long, long time.

For me, the Spanish is like riding a bike, but for CJ, one example of her Spanish was at the airport when the customs people were looking through her bags, they didn't speak English and she got stuck having to try to communicate. But it all worked out, one of the guys asked her if she knew any cuss words, and she replied, "No, sorry, I don't even know the normal words."

But we'll figure it out.
